Before I get to the real journal, I'd just like to inform those who bothered to read my last journal that the cars were promptly washed soon after and the writing affair has ended.
Now, if you haven't already heard there is a brand new anthro-related club on dA by the name of *clubanthro. It only started this week, but already has 50+ members and starting strong with weekly anthro-features, submissions uploaded, and that good stuff.
If you haven't already I suggest heading over to have a looksie. Watch them if you want to join (that's all ya gotta do to join!), check out this week's feature, read the information provided and if you're interested in a staff position they're open for applications.
Every month you can submit an artwork that is connected to a theme to the gallery, in addition to a piece not related to the month's theme. If you have the time, this month's theme is 'Vibrant' so maybe go submit something as well as a looksie, eh? Enjoy.
Stolen from =sighthoundlady. You can help fight oppression and censorship in Iran in a few minutes:
"If you're on Twitter, set your location to Tehran & your time zone to GMT +3.30. Iranian security forces are hunting for bloggers using location/timezone searches. The more people at this location, the more of a logjam it creates for forces trying to shut down Iranians' access to the internet.
Cut & paste & pass it on."
It's important to pass it on as well, as the more people who know the more effect it will create.
Purpose: Give more exposure to skilled artists or those with much potential, but who are also mature, kind, and generally not an elitist ass. I generally feature anthropomorphic art but on occasion artisan crafts and other genres / media.
The deviantARTIST today, my third feature, will be ~Art-of-Sekhmet!
"Wow absolutely stunning! I just love how you did the water, as well as the pose cutting out where it does, gives it an innocent look.
I like the face the most. It's not super-detailed but..."
"Truly stunning. She definitely pops out from the backdrop colors because of how the painstaking fur texture contrasts the more painterly look of the backdrop. The earthy warm colors establish the mood perfectly and are very pleasing to the eye... Mine, at least.
Wonderful, wonderful work! I especially admire that fur texture, as well as your excellent grasp on anatomy. Her torso came out especially well."
The Artist: I haven't been watching her for long, but in that short time I've seen incredible improvement in her art. She seems more motivated, more attached, and more involved in the pieces she does, it gives one a greater appreciation for her work.
Very friendly and open person, and is Canadian which gives her bonus points. Fine service and fine food, is how you might phrase it if she were a restaurant, definitely worth watching for either aspect.

"Look at that detail found in every millimetre of this picture, and the expression! Anatomy! Background! All of this done with very little references to go by, seeing as there are no smilodon's to reference off of today. One of my all-time personal favourites."
